Beyond Chiropractic & Wellness Center
Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) is a hands-on therapy that uses specialized tools to treat muscle and fascial restrictions, scar tissue, post-surgery scar and mobility treatments, and soft tissue injuries. By applying targeted pressure, IASTM breaks down adhesions and improves blood flow, and flushes away the fluid and inflammation which helps reduce pain and restore mobility. This technique is especially useful for athletes, individuals with chronic pain, and post-surgical patients needing relief from scar tissue or muscle tension.
Beyond pain reduction, IASTM enhances tissue elasticity, promotes healing, and helps prevent future injuries by restoring proper movement patterns. It is effective for conditions like tendinitis, plantar fasciitis, tennis and golfer elbow and muscle strains, offering long-term benefits in flexibility and performance. This therapy is often combined with other treatments, creating a comprehensive approach to musculoskeletal health and allowing patients to recover more efficiently.
After scheduling your first visit and completing the new patient forms, you will come in for a consultation and a comprehensive examination. If necessary, X-rays will be taken of the affected area.
The next step is the Report of Findings. Once we have gathered all the information, we will explain the results and discuss how we can help you. We will also present a treatment plan that fits your needs and budget, along with additional recommendations for stretches and exercises to do at home.
